Ever wonder what an NPC (Non-playable Character) does when you’re not holding them up at gunpoint or running them over with a car? Well Free Guy does just that in a hilarious yet heartwarming way. Watching it, I felt like I was in a video game like Grand Theft Auto.
From 20th Century Studios Free Guy Stars Ryan Reynolds as Guy an NPC who lives in Free City, who’s unaware of this, who does the same routine every day, until Guy decides to be the good guy and stand up to a player, known as sunglasses guys, who’s in the middle of a bank heist mission. Taking their sunglasses allows Guy to see Free City through the eyes of a player.
I will admit when Free Guy was first announced I was skeptical but once I saw the trailers those skepticism started to go away and after watching that skepticism went fully away. Ryan Reynolds and Director Shawn Levy prove to be a powerful duo. Ryan Reynolds brings the laughs as the lovable and even naive Guy. From the start you can’t help but root for Guy. The supporting rounded out Free Guy with Taika Waititi, Jodie Comer, Joe Keery and Lil Rel Howery. Free Guy is a can’t miss.
Free Guy was filled with action right from the start as the world of Free City is constantly getting blown up, cars flying, and banks being robbed. Free Guy also had some unexpected cameos from the likes of Channing Tatum, Chris Evans, and the late Alex Trebek.
Free Guy has already had a sequel confirmed. I don’t know where they plan to take Free Guy next, but this is one Sequel that I am highly looking forward to.
Free Guy is now playing in Theaters.
