Pick One: Charlotte Hornets -5 (-110) vs the Cleveland Cavaliers
The Hornets are off to a hot 5-2 start and that should continue tonight against the Cavs. Great offense is the biggest reason for Hornets success as they are currently 2nd in points per 100 possessions at 116.3 while the Cavs are 15th in points per 100 defensively and 22nd offensively at 104.2. Currently, three Hornets are averaging 18 or more points per game, and with their overall offense being that much better than Cleveland’s, expect the Hornets to cover the 5 points.
Pick Two: Chicago Bulls +2.5 (-110) at the Boston Celtics
The Bulls are starting the season off just right as they are 5-1 and looking to keep the success going. Going for them they have Zach Lavine averaging 25.5 points per game, Demar Derozan putting up 23.7 points per contest and Vucevic contributing 15.8 points and 11 boards per game. As of now, the Bulls are 8th in points per 100 offensively at 108.6 and 5th defensively at 99.5. Boston is off to a meh 2-4 start and ranks 20th in points per 100 offensively and 14th defensively. The Bulls are the better team at both ends of the floor and expect them to show it tonight.
Pick Three: Denver Nuggets -1 (-110) at the Memphis Grizzlies
Both of these teams are pretty good, but Denver is better and it’s because of reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. Jokic is averaging 24 points, 14.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 60.8% from the field. The Nuggets offense is only 24th in points per 100 but the Grizzlies defense is 29th. For the Grizzlies they are 7th offensively in points per 100 while Denver is 4th defensively. Both teams’ strengths will be tested but when it comes down to it you gotta trust Jokic.
