Top Ten Things To Watch This NFL Season
10. The rookie receiver class
We get yet another talented young receiver group entering the league and there’s some fun fits. You gotta love seeing the two big reunitings of Joe Burrow with Ja’Marr Chase and Tua Tagovailoa with Jaylen Waddle. Lamar Jackson gets a couple weapons in the highly talented Rashod Bateman and a potential fourth-round steal in Tylan Wallace. Second overall pick Zach Wilson gets the explosive Elijah Moore. These guys will have more than a few highlights this year.
9. Project Darnold
The Carolina Panthers made the move for Sam Darnold and are trusting the current hot young offensive mind in Joe Brady. Making this move said a lot about the Panthers’ confidence in Brady’s coaching and development skills, as Darnold was poorly coached for three tragic years on the Jets. Can Brady save him? We’ll see.
8. Kingsbury’s Last Stand
It’s year three for Kliff Kingsbury and he needs a playoff appearance as bad as a coach could. Luckily he has Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins, but is this defense ready to be respectable? The front office is also gambling on AJ Green and rookie Rondale Moore staying healthy and producing, which is particularly asking a lot from Green at this point. We’ll see what Kliff is made of this year.
7. Burrow’s back and the return of the Dak
2020’s number one pick is back and hopefully for a full season, especially so we can see him with former teammate Ja’Marr Chase. Dak Prescott being back isn’t just great for the Cowboys, but it’s good for the league as he’s an exciting young player and seems like a good dude. Both of these quarterbacks being back on the field should excite fans and provide good quality, entertaining football.
6. The rookie QB class
To paraphrase Lebron James we have not one, not two, not three, not four, but five young QBs to watch for this year. We know the Jags will start Trevor Lawrence and the Jets will start Zach Wilson, but when do we see Trey
Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones? Finding out will be fun to watch.
5. Tua’s redemption
Last season was pretty ugly for Tua but this season he has a lot going for him. The Dolphins upgraded his weaponry and his line should be better. Tua is also another year removed from a major hip surgery. Click here for more on Tua.
4. Matthew Stafford is on the Rams
Stafford finally will get a good situation and offensive coach and play-caller so now he can finally show his true potential. The Rams have the weaponry to win big with Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods while also having a solid offensive line. Their defense should also be formidable, giving him something he hasn’t had most years.
3. Are the Browns for real?
The Browns are coming off a year in which they not only made it to the playoffs but won a playoff game and pushed the defending champs to the end. After loading up and spending money in the right places this off-season, we’ll see if Cleveland can take the division and another step forward.
2. Tom Brady’s age 44 season and fully healthy
Brady played last season with a torn meniscus and still won a Super Bowl and threw for 40 touchdowns. With a full off-season to work with his teammates and having the same team around him what’s in store this year?
- Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams “Last Dance”?
Not too long ago both Rodgers and Adams posted “Last Dance” photos on their Instagram stories implying to many that this is their last run with the Packers. You know both of these guys are going to play with something extra this year to prove a point before they go – if that is indeed what happens. It likely will.
